Darlington have completed a loan move for Peterborough United forward Liam Hatch. The twenty-six year old has joined Quakers for three months however is not expected to make his debut at Macclesfield Town this coming weekend thanks to an ankle injury.

Watford needed extra time to see off Darlington in the second round of the League Cup. The home side took the lead through Damien Francis but Quakers equalised moments from the end to force the game into extra time.

Darlington start the first of three away games in a row tonight with a trip to Championship side Watford in the second round of the League Cup. Quakers knocked out Walsall in the previous round to set up the trip and will be hopeful of causing another upset.

Darlington manager Dave Penney was happy with his side's performance during the 2-1 home defeat against Gillingham at the weekend. The Quakers' boss however was less pleased with the performance of Craig Pawson the match referee.

Missed chances and an appalling refereeing decision helped visitors Gillingham pick up their first win of the season. Quakers dragged themselves level from the penalty spot after Simeon Jackson's first half goal and appeared to be heading for a point until Garry Richard's last gasp scramble on the line earned Gillingham all three points.

Darlington entertain Gillingham this weekend looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season but also to pick up their first win of the campaign. Quakers have been unlucky not to record three points in the league yet but will be hopeful of correcting that against a Gillingham side which appears to be coming increasingly under fire from it's supporters.

Peterborough have signed Dagenham & Redbridge winger Dominic Green in their most expensive summer signing.The 19-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the League One side for an undisclosed fee. Posh boss Darren Ferguson beat Crystal Palace, an unnamed Championship club and Huddersfield to the signing of the former West Ham trainee.

Shrewsbury Town have extended young keeper Luke Daniels' loan from West Bromwich Albion until January. "West Brom are happy how we've been treating Luke and how he's playing. I think he's got better with each game he's played for us and hopefully he will improve even more," said Town boss Paul Simpson.
