Quakers hold Leeds United

Darlington held a strong Leeds United side to a goalless draw in their latest pre-season game. Former Bradford City player Paul Evans was handed another chance to start whilst fellow trialist Paul Robinson featured from the bench in the second half.


Kennedy scores twice against Billingham

Jason Kennedy scored twice for Darlington as they beat Billingham Town this afternoon 5-1. The former Middlesbrough man, a summer signing following his loan spell last season, was the pick of the bunch for Darlington.

Darlington see off Synthonia

Darlington secured their first pre-season victory by beating Billingham Synthonia 2-0 last night. The Synners rearguard held out until five minutes after the break when Paul Robinson put Darlington ahead. Quakers added a second through youngster Micheal Smith.

Norton friendly ends in a draw

Darlington started their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw against Norton and Stockton Ancients. Quakers handed appearances to several players including trialists Paul Robinson, Luke Guttridge and Junior Brown. Darlington skipper Steve Foster scored Quakers' goal in the first half before the home side pegged them back in the second.

Darlington could be closing in on forward Richie Foran according to rumours. Quakers are set to see Tommy Wright depart for Aberdeen within two weeks with the player having agreed terms but Darlington could replace the former Leicester City player with Foran.

The protracted transfer of Darlington forward Tommy Wright to Scottish side Aberdeen is set to be concluded in the next two weeks. Darlington are understood to have accepted a £75,000 deal for the sale of the player.

Tommy Wright looks set to stay at Darlington for the time being. It appeared as if the Darlington forward would be packing his bags for Aberdeen with the local media reporting that a bid of £100,000 had been accepted for Wright.

Darlington look set to lose the services of Tommy Wright. Aberdeen have made a bid of £100,000 for the forward and it is highly likely that Darlington will accept the offer. Quakers have previously turned down other offers for the player but it seems that this latest bid will be enough to see Wright move North of the border.

Aberdeen are reportedly interested in securing the services of Darlington forward Tommy Wright. The former Leicester City player scored fifteen times last season for Quakers but is the subject of transfer speculation. Meanwhile Darlington's game with Bradford City is to be shown on Sky.

Proudlock signs for Quakers

Darlington have confirmed another new face to their squad. Adam Proudlock has become the latest addition to the Darlington dressing room. The former Stockport County striker follows hot on the heels of David Poole and Adam Griffin who both signed earlier in the week for Darlington.

Darlington have completed another two signings. Stockport County duo David Poole and Adam Griffin have both joined Quakers. Following the Hatter's promotion to League One through the play-offs the club has removed nine players from its squad including midfielders Poole and Griffin.
