Richie Foran first signed for Darlington on loan during the 2007/08 season in January 2008 from Southend United. He then rejoined Quakers the following campaign in late October having continually not figured at Roots Hall.

The forward, who spent three seasons at Carlisle, joined The Shrimpers from Motherwell in January 2007 for £200,000. Despite the hefty transfer fee he has rarely figured. His first move to the club saw him spent the majority of his time on the wing. Despite injury problems during that spell he still looked impressive for Quakers.

As his time at Carlisle and Motherwell prove Foran knows where the net is. He scored twenty-five league goals in eighty-four starts for the Cumbrian based outfit and twenty-three in seventy-six starts for Motherwell.
